Animation and Poem: ik zie ik zie wat jij niet ziet
A poem I wrote, recorded and animated about seeing the time you live in for what it is: a wonderful, painful, chaotic sum of all it's parts. I tried to convey this message by using small, recognizable events, combined with some less small descriptions of feelings and worries one could have. I made all things merge into each other as to create this one big, touching and confusing thing that is life.
The animation is drawn using coloured pencil. It is drawn by hand: frame by frame. Then scanned and put together digitally. I chose a childlike and slightly abstract way of drawing, to give a playful attitude to the seriousness of the poem, because that is what the poem is about: still seeing beauty in life despite (and because) of all it's struggles.
